Slim Chickens

"Superior strength, new shape,
and textured handles"
Welcome, fork fanatics! Normally, your standard chicken shack has the worst kind of forks. We're talking your standard medium-weight polypropylene white plastic. Think mid-'80s KFC. Bendy, cheap, and ineffective. Not so with Slim Chickens!

If you haven't been there, Slim Chickens is one of those new, boutique chicken tenders restaurants. It's still QSR, but your meal is made to order, and it feels a little nicer than standard drive-through fare (not that there's anything wrong with that!).

To complement their decidedly upscale approach, Slim Chickens (or "Slim's," as we will refer to them here going forward) has made a bold move in the fork category. What fork says elegance, but not extravagance? Tastefulness, but not stodginess? Utility, but not mundane? If you guessed Solo's Reliance™ Medium Weight Polystyrene Cutlery, you'd be right!

According to the Solo website, the Reliance line is a result of advanced "product design and optimized strength-to-weight ratio [which] provides superior performance," and features a "streamlined handle and improved grip." The tines are reinforced with triple ribbing, with very little molding flash, which makes them very comfortable to hold. And that grip sure comes into play when you are balancing one of Slim's unwieldy tenders on the tines!

Perfect COB!
The Golden Ratio
And, speaking of balance! Wow! The Reliance fork is a full-sizer (FS), which is not always a good thing, but the heft certainly works in its favor here. Perfect Center-of-Balance (COB)! It fits the Golden Ratio perfectly!

So all-in-all, a great fork experience which way exceeded my expectations for this venue.
